Chart topping band Westlife made time to help launch Bluebell Wood’s Golden Mile 100 day challenge whilst recently on tour in Sheffield, despite their busy schedule.
We’re now looking for people to follow in Westlife’s footsteps and take up the challenge, which starts in April. It’s our biggest ever fundraising event and will help us to see the first families arrive at the hospice later in the year.
The challenge is simple: To raise just £100 in 100 days! To support the challenge Bluebell Wood will provide you with a tube which holds 100 pound coins, together with the point of sale material.
Westlife commented: "We are delighted to help launch Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice fantastic new fundraising campaign “The Golden Mile Challenge”. We want to personally encourage everyone to take up the challenge to raise £100 in 100 days for this vital local charity. Every penny raised will make a huge difference to the lives of local children with life limiting and life threatening conditions, and their families.”
Each tube is 1 foot long, and 5,000 filled tubes will make a golden mile of £1 coins and raise half a million pounds! The money can be raised through donations, a dress down day, a raffle or a one-off fundraiser. The sky is the limit for how many tubes you fill and how you fill them!
The Hospice building is almost complete, having raised over £4m to get this far - the 100 day challenge will take us through the final mile. 71 families already receive our care in the community and we are also supporting 12 families whose children have died.
Our Care Team are always going the extra mile for our children and families and we need your support to help us go the extra mile with our Golden Mile 100 day challenge.
